The last week of MPL Indonesia Season 17 regular season starts today, Friday, May 22, and there is no margin left. Two matches open the final stretch at MPL Arena in Jakarta: Bigetron by Vitality vs DEWA United Esports at 15:15 WIB, followed by Team Liquid ID vs Alter Ego at 18:15 WIB.
With playoffs running from June 10 to 14 and the top two finishers earning a trip to MSC 2026 in Paris, every single game point matters now more than it has all season.
π MPL Indonesia Standings Before the Final Week
Before we break down today’s matchups, check where each team sits after eight weeks of regular season play.
| Rank | Team | W | L | MP |
| 1 | ONIC Esports | 12 | 2 | 12 |
| 2 | DEWA United | 8 | 6 | 8 |
| 3 | EVOS | 8 | 7 | 8 |
| 4 | Team Liquid ID | 8 | 6 | 8 |
| 5 | Geek Fam | 7 | 7 | 7 |
| 6 | Bigetron by Vitality | 7 | 7 | 7 |
| 7 | Alter Ego | 7 | 7 | 7 |
| 8 | NAVI | 6 | 8 | 6 |
| 9 | RRQ Hoshi | 1 | 13 | 1 |
ONIC locked in the first playoff spot weeks ago and will enter the Upper Bracket Semifinals regardless of Week 9 results. Beyond that, the table is pure chaos. Three teams tied at 8 match points for second through fourth. Three more locked together at 7. A single game point separates the Upper Bracket shortcut from the play-in danger zone.
If teams are tied on match points, tiebreakers go by game difference first, then head-to-head record. That means set scores today could flip seedings overnight.
π₯ Match 1: BTR vs DEWA (15:15 WIB)
Bigetron by Vitality comes in at 7 points after a solid Week 8 that included a clean 2-0 sweep over Alter Ego on Day 3. BTR’s early-game aggression has been sharper in the second half of the season, and their Day 3 performance showed real discipline in closing out games.
DEWA United, sitting at 8 points, had a rough Week 8. Two straight sweeps: 0-2 to ONIC on Day 1, then 0-2 to EVOS on Day 3. That back-to-back blowout snapped what had been their best run of form all season. The coaching staff is also running short after assistant coach Raiden was deactivated on May 7, leaving head coach Right and analyst Aceng to handle preparation alone. That reduced staff could affect draft adaptations under the pressure of a final week.
What to watch for:
BTR need this win to stay inside the top six. A loss puts them at risk of dropping below NAVI if results go sideways on Saturday and Sunday. For DEWA, winning here stabilizes their position. They still hold a one-point cushion over the teams at 7, but a loss would create a four-way tie in match points between DEWA, BTR, Geek Fam, and Alter Ego. That kind of tiebreaker math gets ugly fast.
DEWA still have two matches remaining this week (BTR today, RRQ on Sunday), so they control their own seeding. BTR also play twice, with ONIC waiting on Saturday night.
π₯ Match 2: TLID vs AE (18:15 WIB)
Team Liquid ID sits tied at 8 match points with DEWA and EVOS. Their Week 8 included a clean 2-0 over RRQ Hoshi on Saturday. TLID’s strength all season has been their mid-to-late macro game, rotating between Lord setups and split pushes better than most teams in the league. With two matches left (AE today, Geek Fam tomorrow at 14:15), TLID can climb as high as second if they sweep the weekend.
Alter Ego holds 7 points after losing two of their Week 8 matches: 1-2 to ONIC on Day 2 and 0-2 to BTR on Day 3. AE’s problem this season is consistency. They took games off top teams earlier in the season, including a 2-1 win over DEWA in Week 7, but then dropped sets to lower-ranked opponents in the same week.
What to watch for:
This matchup will likely come down to the EXP lane and jungle pressure. TLID’s jungler has been creating early invade opportunities since Week 6, and Alter Ego’s response to early jungle aggression has been one of their weak spots all season. If TLID establish an early gold lead through objective control, AE will struggle to find the teamfight windows they need to turn games around.
For Alter Ego, a win keeps their playoff hopes alive. A loss combined with a BTR win in the first match would push AE down to eighth on tiebreakers, which is elimination territory.
ποΈ Full Week 9 Schedule
Today is just the beginning. Here is every match left in the MPL Indonesia Season 17 regular season:
Friday, May 22
- BTR vs DEWA (15:15 WIB)
- TLID vs AE (18:15 WIB)
Saturday, May 23
- GEEK vs TLID (14:15 WIB)
- AE vs RRQ (17:15 WIB)
- BTR vs ONIC (20:15 WIB)
Sunday, May 24
- RRQ vs DEWA (14:15 WIB)
- ONIC vs EVOS (17:15 WIB)
- NAVI vs GEEK (20:15 WIB)
Saturday features a critical double-header for TLID, who face Geek Fam at 14:15 just hours after their Friday match. Playing twice in two days at this stage of the season costs energy, and that fatigue tends to show up in game three. BTR also plays twice this weekend, closing Saturday against ONIC at 20:15. That is a brutal scheduling draw for a team that needs every point it can get.
EVOS only have one match left: ONIC on Sunday at 17:15. With an 8-7 record and no margin for error, they need a win against the league leaders to secure their playoff seeding. A loss there could drop them below TLID or DEWA on game difference.
π What’s at Stake: Playoffs and the Road to Paris
The playoff format rewards finishing in the top two. Seeds 1 and 2 skip Round 1 and start in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Seeds 3 through 6 begin in the play-in round, where one loss drops you straight to the lower bracket.
Beyond the domestic trophy and the Rp 4.86 billion prize pool, the two Grand Finalists earn spots at MSC 2026, the Mid Season Cup now relocated to Paris after the Esports World Cup Foundation moved the entire event from Riyadh on May 20. A $3,000,000 prize pool and the biggest international MLBB stage outside of M-Series Worlds wait there.
For players on DEWA, EVOS, TLID, Geek Fam, BTR, and Alter Ego, today’s results shape whether they enter playoffs from a position of strength or scramble through play-ins. The difference between second and fifth seed could come down to a single game point earned this weekend.
