MPL Indonesia Season 17 just wrapped up its sixth week, and the race for playoffs got a lot clearer. ONIC secured their ticket to the postseason. RRQ Hoshi picked up their first win of the split. And the mid-table fight is far from settled.
Nine matches across three days gave us plenty to break down heading into the final stretch of the regular season.

ONIC Lock Playoffs With a Perfect Week
ONIC did not drop a single game in Week 6. They beat Team Liquid ID 2-0 on Day 2, then followed it up with another clean 2-0 against RRQ Hoshi in the Royal Derby on Day 3. That’s 9-2 for the season and a confirmed playoff spot with three weeks left.
Kairi and the squad are playing controlled, disciplined MLBB right now. Their macro reads stay sharp, rotations tight, and they adapt their drafts without losing identity. S A N Z adds consistency in the midlane that makes ONIC hard to plan against. The only team to beat them since Week 4 is Geek Fam, who pulled off a 2-1 upset back in Week 5.
195 Days Later: RRQ Get That Interview π€
RRQ Hoshi went 0-8 through the first five weeks. Roster swaps with Kuroky standing in for Toyy, question marks around Yehezkiel’s integration, fan frustration at peak levels. Then on Day 2, they swept Bigetron by Vitality 2-0. Clean games. No panic. Solid execution.
195 days had passed since RRQ last gave a post-match interview on the MPL ID stage. That win over NAVI on October 19, 2025 in MPL ID S16 was their last taste of victory before this one.
The celebration lasted one night. ONIC handed them a 2-0 loss the very next day in the Royal Derby. RRQ’s record sits at 1-9, dead last. But that first win proves the team can compete when they play with structure and confidence. They need to stack wins fast if playoff hopes are going to survive the final three weeks.
Dewa United Hold Second Place
While everyone focused on ONIC and RRQ, Dewa United took care of business by beating NAVI 2-1 on Day 1. That puts them at 7-3, firm in second place with the second-best game differential in the league.
Dewa’s consistency comes from winning matches they’re supposed to win and stealing series from teams above them. Their 2-0 over TLID in Week 5 showed they can handle pressure matchups. If any team can challenge ONIC for the top seed heading into playoffs, Dewa United has the best shot.
MPL ID S17 Standings After Week 6 π
| Rank | Team | W-L | Status |
| 1 | ONIC | 9-2 | β Playoffs secured |
| 2 | Dewa United | 7-3 | Playoff contention |
| 3 | Bigetron by Vitality | 6-4 | Playoff contention |
| 4 | Team Liquid ID | 6-5 | Playoff contention |
| 5 | Alter Ego | 6-5 | Playoff contention |
| 6 | EVOS | 5-6 | Bubble |
| 7 | Geek Fam | 5-6 | Bubble |
| 8 | NAVI | 3-8 | Danger zone |
| 9 | RRQ Hoshi | 1-9 | Last place |
Top 6 qualify for playoffs. Five spots remain open with three weeks of regular season left. The gap between 3rd and 7th place is just one match, so every series from here matters.
One Match Separates 3rd From 7th
Bigetron, Team Liquid ID, and Alter Ego sit at 6-4 and 6-5. Right behind them, EVOS and Geek Fam both hold 5-6 records, still within striking range. Any two-win week pushes a team into the top 6. Any stumble drops them into danger.
Geek Fam closed Week 6 strong with that 2-0 over EVOS, but they also lost 1-2 to Alter Ego on Day 1. EVOS went 1-1 with a win over AE and a loss to Geek Fam, keeping them right on the playoff bubble. NAVI at 3-8 would need a miracle run through the final three weeks to make it.
Week 7 Preview: EVOS vs RRQ Headlines a Packed Schedule π
Week 7 runs May 8-10 and brings eight matches that could reshape the standings.
| Date | Match | Time (WIB) |
| May 8 | Geek Fam vs Dewa United | 15:15 |
| May 8 | BTR vs Team Liquid ID | 18:15 |
| May 9 | Dewa United vs Alter Ego | 14:15 |
| May 9 | EVOS vs RRQ Hoshi | 17:15 |
| May 9 | ONIC vs NAVI | 20:15 |
| May 10 | NAVI vs RRQ Hoshi | 14:15 |
| May 10 | Geek Fam vs NAVI | 17:15 |
| May 10 | BTR vs Team Liquid ID | 20:15 |
The match to watch is EVOS vs RRQ Hoshi on May 9. Tickets for that one are already sold out at the MPL Arena. RRQ’s first win gave their fanbase something to cheer about, and now the question is whether they can build momentum against an EVOS side fighting for their playoff lives.
Geek Fam vs Dewa United on Day 1 is a statement game too. Geek Fam pulled off the upset over ONIC in Week 5, but Dewa plays a different style. A win here would push Geek Fam into genuine playoff territory.
ONIC face NAVI on May 9, and while the result looks predictable on paper, ONIC already clinched their spot. That might open the door for lineup experiments or rest for key players.
Three Weeks Left, Five Spots Open
The regular season runs through May 24, and playoffs kick off on June 10 with a Hybrid Elimination bracket. Two teams from MPL ID will earn spots at MSC 2026.
ONIC are locked in. Everyone else is fighting for five remaining tickets. With the gap between 3rd and 7th place sitting at one match, these final three weeks will feel like playoffs already.
